Man B&W (A.K.A. Man Diesel & Turbo SE) is a subsidiary of German engineering firm MAN SE (Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nürnberg - founded 1758). Rudolph Diesel, inventor of the diesel engine, worked with MAN during the latter part of the 19th century.
With production facilities in Augsburg, Copenhagen, Frederikshavn, Saint-Nazaire, Aurangabad and Shanghai, as well as a significant licensee operation at Hyundai's Heavy Industries plant in Korea, Man B&W is one of the world's largest manufacturers of marine diesel engines.
Its products range from GenSets of 450 kW output for on-board power, through medium-speed compact class and on to giant two-stroke engines.
